Donald Gilbert "Don" Hulett

Donald "Don" Gilbert Hulett Allenton Donald "Don" Gilbert Hulett, 84, of Allenton, passed away in his home on Tuesday, April 2, 2013. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 19, 1928, the son of the late Gilbert and Elizabeth (Parks) Hulett. His wife of 52 years, Marianne (Carter) Hulett, predeceased him in death on February 17, 2007. Don served his country with the United States Army as an MP during the Korean War. Don lived in Allenton (Berlin Township) all of his life and worked as a farmer, along with developing and running several businesses. He also worked diligently as a mechanic on trucks, tractors and cars. He welcomed the company of friends who often stopped by to visit as he worked in his garage. Don's love for dogs was apparent, as throughout his life he was rarely seen without a trusty canine companion at his side. Surviving are a son: Mark (Cynthia) Hulett of Allenton; two daughters: Janice Hulett of Novi and Karen Jones of Lake Orion; seven grandchildren: Allison, Adam, Aaron, Tiffany, Steven, David and Jacob, five great grandchildren: Ethan, Aubrey, Myah, Kaden and Nova; a brother: Keith Hulett; as well as many friends. To honor Don's request, a private memorial will be held by his family. Memorial donations are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans.
