Sharon Kay Borkowski, 72, of North Street, died Thursday, February 20, 2014 after a short illness.

She was born October 7, 1941 in Port Huron to the late Lyle and Dorothy Crouch.  She married Anthony "Fred" Borkowski on December 16, 1961 in Port Huron.

Sharon was a 4-H sewing leader and liked playing cards at the Senior Center.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing and especially loved attending and supporting her grandchildren in their sporting events.  She was known as "Hockey Grandma" and famous for her warm hugs.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Anthony "Fred"; three children, Tina (Gary) Pavey, Ron (Jill) Borkowski and Judi (John) Genna;  five grandchildren, Frank (Joan) Pavey, Katrina Pavey, Anthony and Ben Genna and Kayla Harris; two brothers, Jim (Shirley) Crouch and Roger (Paula) Crouch;  and several nieces and nephews.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
