Lila E. Makarewicz


 Age 85, died Friday, March 28, 2014 in Mt. Clemens.

She was born September 7, 1928 in Saginaw, daughter of the late Fred and Cleo (Cottrell) Ruppel.  Lila and Marion H. Makarewicz married on May 28, 1949 in Saginaw.  He preceded her in death September 11, 2007.

Lila was a member at St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and served on the Parish Council.  She was a Girl Scouts & Camp Fire Leader, and was involved with the Band Boosters and was a past P.T.A. President.

She is survived by her daughters Janice (Charles) Rytlewski, Deborah (Gerald) Roberts, Ann Marie (Joe Bahnweg) Cook, Mary Makarewicz, and Theresa (Jack) Lane; sons Michael (Cynthia)  and Thomas; one brother, Fred Ruppel, sisters Janet Wiggins, and Judy Hover; 11 Grandchildren: Jennifer (fiancée Andy Pauwels) and Jill Roberts, Christopher (Krystal) Cook, Stacey (Nathaniel) Munger, Aaron Cook, Rebecca and Jeffrey Makarewicz, Brian and Kristine Makarewicz and McKenzie and Ariel Lane, and 5 great grandchildren: Alexavier Cook, Matthew, Justin, Caidence and Ella Munger.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 3, at Ave Maria Parish-St. Patrick Church, Croswell.  The Rev. Donald Eppenbrock will officiate.  Inurnment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Croswell.

Friends may call at the Pomeroy Funeral Home, Croswell, from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday with Vigil service at 4 p.m.  Friends may also call at St. Patrick's Catholic Church from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday before mass.  Memorials are suggested to Lakeshore A.F.C.
