Annetta M. Barr

Carsonville

Annetta Marguerite Barr passed away on May 1, 2014 in her home.  Annetta was born September 6, 1924 to John and Amy (Butler) Dawson.  She married Everette Barr on September 23, 1946. This special anniversary date is shared by her parents, sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Duane Haggerty, a niece Lettie and Thomas Lundman and grand-niece Laci and Jonnathan  Resendiz. Everette died on February 24, 1974.

She was Secretary-Treasurer of Sanilac Mutual Insurance Company in Carsonville for over 45 years.   During her tenure, the Company built a new office building, added new lines of insurance and had substantial growth.

She was a member of the Carsonville United Methodist Church.  Annetta and Everette served as Treasurer of the Church Board for many years.  Annetta served as State Secretary of the Business and Professional Women representing the Sandusky Chapter.  Annetta traveled to every state in the union and visited every state capitol of all 50 states.  She also traveled to Europe and The Bahamas.

Annetta is survived by her sister & brother-in-law Jean and Duane Haggerty of Carsonville, nephews Michael Haggerty of Carsonville, Alan (Linda) Haggerty of Marion, MI and Tucson, Arizona, nieces Lettie (Thomas) Lundman of St. Clair and Lynn (Louis) Verdusco of Midland.

She is survived by grand-nephew Scott (Rebecca) Emerson and daughters Samantha and Katie Mary of St. Clair, grand-nieces Brandi Jean (Mike)  Palmer and children Jorja Jean and Wiatt of Midland,  Laci (Jonnathan) Resendiz and son Mateo of Dallas Texas, and grand-nephew  Corey Verdusco of St. Peters, Missouri.

She is also survived by Michael (Cheryl) Barr of Carsonville, Bruce Boddy of Yale, Leland Boddy of Naperville, Illinois, and Harold Boddy of California and Matthew Purvis and family of Houghton Lake and David Purvis and family of Troy.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 4th at Pomeroy Funeral Home - Carsonville from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. with Services at 3:00 p.m.  Pastor Jerry Griggs will officiate.  Private interment at Washington Cemetery, Carsonville.
