Audrey Jayne Bassett

Audrey Jayne Bassett, 84, of Port Huron, died Tuesday, November 19, 2013 in Blue Water Hospice Home, Marysville.

She was born February 4, 1929 in Port Huron to the late Robert and Laura (Nelson) Rolph. She married H. Elmer "Al" Bassett Jr. on January 9, 1947 in Napoleon, OH. He preceded her in death on October 21, 1999.

Audrey loved playing cards, enjoyed spending time with her family and never missed a Bassett family reunion. She was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #158, Elks Lodge #343 and spent time at the American Legion.

She is survived by her son, Ty J. Bassett of Exton, PA, two daughters, Christine M. (Bryan R.) Kalbfleisch of Brown City and Kimberley S. Dyrval of Port Huron; grandchildren, Scott J. Bassett, Michael D. Bassett, Kurt J. Bassett, Jeffrey A. Bassett, Brandon L. Dyrval, Roger T. Dyrval, Victoria J. Dyrval and Ryan R. Kalbfleisch; great grandchildren, Ashley Bassett, Matthew Bassett, Avery Morgan, Austin and Conner Kalbfleisch; and longtime friend, Virginia Meyers. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dee Ann Marie Bassett and her son, David M. Bassett.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2013 in St. Mary Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph A. Gagnon will officiate.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to  9 p.m. Saturday, November 23 and from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, November 24 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 9 to 10a.m. Monday, November 25 in the church. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Blue Water Hospice Home.

I will always remember Audrey as a fun, happy lady. She would always put a smile on your face even if you didn't have one. She will be missed. To her family and close friends let your special memories help you cope. Keep smiling during those memories Audrey would want it that way!
