Donald James Dyer, Sr.
Services for Donald James Dyer, Sr. will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 24, 2012 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Reverend Grady Dodge officiating. Burial will be in Palmer Chapel Cemetery.
The family requests that visitation be observed Friday at Hixson Brothers, Pineville from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday.
Mr. Dyer, 65, of Deville passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.
He worked for the State of Louisiana Forestry Service for 35 years and was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Levy J. and Mary Ann Snodgrass Dyer; brother, Billy Dewayne Dyer and sister, Peggy Sue Hale.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 43 years, Sharon Dyer of Deville; daughter, Wtissue Thacker and husband, Therand Thacker of Deville; son, Donald James Dyer, Jr. and wife, Sonda Dyer of Centerpoint; daughter, Sarah Dodge of Deville; son, John Dyer and wife, Lisa Dyer of Deville; brothers, Levy Dyer, Ronnie Dyer, Terry Joe Dyer and Michael Wayne Dyer; sisters, Wanda Cole and Dana Purvis; fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ethan Thacker, Barrett Thacker, Lucas Dyer, Dalton Dyer, Thomas Ryland, Dustin Dodge and Justin McDowell. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Tolbert and Justin Dyer.
