Alexandria - A Mass of Christian Burial for Angelina Mannina Cortello will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Monday, December 10, 2018, at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church with Rev. Chad Partain officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 9, 2018, and resume from 12:30 P.M. until 1:15 P.M. on Monday, December 10, 2018, at the funeral home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:30 P.M. on Sunday, December 9, 2018, in the Kramer Chapel.

Angelina Mannina Cortello, 91, of Alexandria passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at her residence.

Angelina is preceded in death by her husband, Frank L. Cortello, and her parents, Mike and Maria Trombatore Mannina.

Angelina Mannina Cortello was born on August 11, 1927 to Mike Mannina of Palermo, Italy and Maria Trombatore Mannina of Corleone, Italy. She graduated from Redemptorist High School in 1945 where she enjoyed volleyball, skating, bowling, and dancing. Angelina married Frank L. Cortello in 1949, who predeceased her in 2012. In 1958 they moved to Alexandria, LA where she worked as a bookkeeper for Greens Dept. Store and Dresser Ind. She eventually became the owner and proprietor of JetMart Grocery and the Book Nook. Angelina was a member of St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. She served as Vice President and President of The Amerita Women's Auxiliary and was a member of the American Legion Club.

Angelina was a devout Catholic, who believed in the power of prayer. She had a kind, charitable and considerate personality. Angelina was there for anyone when they needed the right word, help, or love, always putting others needs before her own. She was a kind and gentle woman who could be depended on at any time. Angelina was remembered, by all who met her, for her abundance of kind words, laughter and sincere spirit.

She is survived by her 4 children; Glenn Cortello (Lydia), Sandra Ellington (Greg), Terry Antoon (Robert), and Frank Cortello (Cynthia). She was the proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Nicholas Antoon, James Ellington, Austin Cortello, Chris Martin, Ellis Saybe, Greg Gormanous, and Wayne Aucoin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Antoon, Paul Carlin, Gary LaHood, Kevin Davidson, Field Gremillion, Charles Mannina, and Gary Mannina.

The Cortello Family wishes to thank Cynthia Lee who stayed with Mrs. Cortello at home. The family also wishes to thank Dr. Screpitis, Frances Turregano, RNNP, Mr. Maan Younes, Dr. Michael Brunet, Dr. James White, and Dr. Harry Hawthorne; along with the nursing staff of Stat Home Health and St. Joseph Hospice.
