Pollock - Services for Fred Slaydon will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 10, 2021, in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria with Reverend Grover Warren officiating. Burial will be in Old Leesville Cemetery.

The family requests visitation be held Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Due to Covid restrictions, social distancing and masks are required.

Mr. Slaydon was born in Pickering, Louisiana. He graduated from Pickering High School and joined the United States Army as an MP stationed at Fort Hood, Texas and then attended college where he received a degree in Business Management and Accounting. He retired from the Leesville Postal Service. He then worked at Lowe's in Leesville and became District Manager of Lowe's in Bryan, Texas and West Monroe, Louisiana.

Mr. Slaydon, 79, of Pollock went to heaven, Wednesday, April 7, 2021 in CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Slaydon; daughter, Tanya Lynn Slaydon; parents, William Guy and Pearl Slaydon; siblings, Bruce Slaydon, Dorothy Partin, Willie Merle Slaydon, Margie O'Banion, Connie Jean Erwin, and Charles Herman Slaydon.

Those left to cherish her memory include his son, B. J. Barrett; daughter, Sharon Cavanaugh; grandchildren, Lucy Anne Modisette, Tyler Hoes, Maddie Marie Hoes; great-grandchildren, Caedus Lynn Modisette.
