Diane, From time to time i looked through the obituaries. I came across a familiar name Freddie Vinson a strong and wonderful dedicated husband and dad, grandfather and one who showed respect for life and everyone he came across. Diane many days you spoke so many kinds words about Freddie and him being a good husband and dad that you loved very much. I remembered you and him traveling and enjoying life. Freddie was the love of your life and you where the love of his life. You told me about the military life you and him had together not easy at first, but you and him make it through. You and I had many talks almost everyday at work. Many time we would go the the chapel at work and pray daily for family and friends. I know you know our God and that he is there for you. May God comfort you during this time. Time takes patient and patient takes time. I am asking God to hold you in his arms and keep you safe. Love from a coworker . Janette

The Final Salute
Brothers and Sisters-in-Arms, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged Hand Salutes as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This Hand Salute is the last that we shall render to Freddie Vinson, Jr. our Brother-in-Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Fred. To Fred it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during the Vietnam War while serving in the U.S. Army. Fred, we commend you for your honorable military service. You are a true patriot, who served with honor and distinction. You upheld the finest qualities of an American patriot warrior: courage, commitment, generosity, sacrifice, love and devotion to family and country. You were a true friend. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 881 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport and the 227 veterans of VFW Post 4588 in Bossier City, Louisiana, we extend our sympathies and our condolences to Freds family and loved ones.
