Boyce - A Mass of Christian Burial for Ives Lavern "Red" Cargle will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at St. Rita Catholic Church with Rev. Bruce Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Alexandria Memorial Gardens under the direction of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, and resume from 10:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at the funeral home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, in the Kramer Chapel, led by Father Bill.

Ives Lavern "Red" Cargle, 87, of Boyce, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018, at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

Red is preceded in death by his parents, Ives and Laura Cargle; daughter, Sheri Diane Cargle Womack, and a son, Ives Lavern Cargle, Jr.

Red was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 247 for 66 years and was the Maintenance and Construction superintendent for 25 years at P&G. He retired in 1993. Red belonged to the Masonic Lodge for 54 years and worked tirelessly and helped in anyway possible. He was a Shriner for over 50 years and through this organization showed what a true humanitarian was. Red worked with the Shriners Circus for most of his life and sponsored many children. His generosity changed many lives through the care they received at the Shriners Hospital and he received the Shriner of the Year award in 2013 for his dedication to the organization. Red loved anything that had to do with the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who was willing to help anyone.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 70 years, Ruth Cargle; his son, Lee Cargle; his daughter, Verna Gilchrist (Andrew); six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Lee Cargle, Jr., Christopher Cargle, Drew Gilchrist, Martin Womack, Robert Duncan, and Paul Farese. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alex Gilchrist and Andrew Gilchrist.

In lieu of flowers, the Cargle Family would like donations sent to - Shreveport, 3100 Samford Ave, Shreveport, LA 71103.
