Janet Downs Adams, age 74, passed from this life on her birthday, Friday, July 6, 2018, at her son's residence in Dallas, Texas.

Janet was an unusually caring and empathetic person. She was a valued employee of Pinecrest State School for 32 years where she developed many life-long friendships and became a caregiver to several co-workers as their medical needs dictated. She carried on this service to her own mother in the last years of her life. When she became ill herself, she still tried to be the comforter to those around her, but her strength was no longer present: her third bout with cancer would be her last.

Ms. Adams was a loving mother, grandmother, and daughter. Any who knew Janet knew they had a friend who would literally do anything in the world for them, at any time, with no thought for herself.

Janet was preceded in death by father and mother, Charles R. and Pauline H. Downs. She is survived by her son Michael Robertson and his son, Hunter, of Alexandria; her son Rick Robertson and his children Rachel and David, of Dallas; her aunts Ima Hathorn, Nadine Hathorn, and Burma Downs; numerous cousins, and a host of other family members and friends.
