San Antonio, Texas - SISTER VIRGINIA LEE VANDERLICK, CDP

Sister Virginia Lee Vanderlick, CDP entered eternal life on June 10, 2018 at the age of 90. Her parents were Henry J. and Mary Blanche Vermaelen Vanderlick. Her baptismal name was Mary Louise. Sister Virginia Lee was born on March 8, 1928 in Alexandria, Louisiana. She answered God's call to become a Sister of Divine Providence on September 10, 1949, and professed first vows on June 22, 1952. She worked very zealously in Catholic Education for 61 years. After teaching for 10 years in Texas and Louisiana, she began 39 years as a principal, the last 29 of those years at Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Alexandria, Louisiana. In 2001 she became President and a teacher at the school for 12 additional years.The Rosary is Wednesday, June 13 at 4:00 p.m. and the Wake is at 6:30 p.m. The Memorial Mass will be on Thursday, June 14 at 11:00 a.m. All services will be in Annunciation Chapel at Our Lady of the Lake Convent Center, 515 S.W. 24th Street, San Antonio, Texas 78207.

A Memorial Mass will also be celebrated for Sister Virginia Lee on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, Alexandria, Louisiana. A reception will follow in Divine Providence Hall - all are invited.

In lieu of flowers, you may wish to make a memorial contribution to the Sisters of Divine Providence Retirement Fund, 515 S.W. 24th Street, San Antonio, TX 78207-4619.
