Alexandria - Graveside services for Wanda Lee Bollinger will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2018 at Pine Island Cemetery, Simpson, Louisiana with Dr. Glenn Cooley officiating, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Michael Bollinger, Stan Bollinger, Jesse Bolton, Billy Anderson, Danny Grant and David Voda.

Visitation will be observed Thursday at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Bollinger, 80, of Alexandria passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at her residence.

She was a long time member of Sunny Hill Baptist Church in Kurthwood, Louisiana, before moving to Alexandria. She was a former Post Master at Alco, Louisiana and a retired Civil Servant, working many years at Fort Polk. Wanda was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who touched the hearts of many and will be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Joe O. Bollinger; parents, Dave and Helen Bolton Dean and brother, Jeral Dean.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Joey Bollinger and his wife, Gina Bertoglio Bollinger and John A. Bollinger; grandchildren, Jackson Bollinger, Jacob Bollinger, Zachary Bollinger and Marta Bollinger; brother, Hollis Dean; sisters, Mary Lewis, Katie Vivian Rachal, Francis Burch, Gloria (Pie) Basco, Judy Funk, Kathy Dean and Sherry Clifton and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Simpson Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 336, Simpson, LA 71474.

We would like to acknowledge Dr. Bruce Barton for his continued care and relentless compassion for mom through the years. We would like to thank Compassionate Care Hospice and in particular their members, Allison Young, Irma Vincent and Monica Washington, for their loving kindness, and we would like to also thank caregivers, Josie Phillips, Maria Dorsey, Arlene Golden, Felicidad Cuppett, Debbie Setliff and Teresa Ferguson for their devotion and endless attention.
