Funeral services for Ms. Billie Louise Mitcham Polson will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014 in Pitkin First Baptist Church. Reverend Jeremy McRory will be officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Branch Cemetery under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Ms. Polson, 78, of Pantego, Tx passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Arbrook Plaza Nursing Facility in Arlington, Tx.

Billie was a graduate of Polytechnic High School, Fort Worth, Tx. She was married for 50 years to Ralph Polson, Jr. until his death in 2005. They resided in Southlake, Texas until moving to the Polson Family farm in Pitkin, Louisiana in 1996. Following her husband's death Billie moved back to Texas in 2010 to be closer to her grandchildren and great grandson. She became a member of the Mayfield Road Baptist Church, actively participating in senior activities at church and in the community. She thoroughly enjoyed local field trips, being a member of the Red Hat organization, and traveling out of state to visit friends and relatives.

Ms. Polson was preceded in death by, her husband Ralph W. Polson, Jr.; one son, John Wesley Polson; one daughter, DeAnne Dickinson, and her parents, Edna & Johnnie Mitcham.

Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include one son; Paul Mitcham & his wife Paula of Arlington, Tx; three grandsons, Christopher Dickinson of Lewisville, Tx., Conway Dickinson of Lewisville, Tx., and SPC Chase Polson & his wife Jolie of Kileen, Tx.; one granddaughter, Ashton Polson of Bryan, Tx; one great grandson, Bryson Dickinson; one son-in-law, Eric Dickinson of Lewisville, Tx; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Knight of Giddings, Tx; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and related family members.

Visitation will be held at Pitkin First Baptist Church, Pitkin, La. on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014.
