Funeral services for Mr. Joe O'Banion will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 12, 2012 in Rush Chapel, Oakdale with Reverends Joe Brown and James Perry officiating. Interment will follow in Beaver Creek Cemetery under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Mr. O'Banion, 70, of Deville entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 10, 2012 in Grace Home, Alexandria.

Joe retired from International Paper Pineville Kraft Mill after 32 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Blanche O'Banion; two brothers, William O'Banion and Kirby O'Banion; four sisters, Lillian Hutchinson, Elaine Creel, Shirley Diefenbach and Ruby Fontenot.

Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of forty-seven years, Sue O'Banion; one son, Tony O'Banion and his fiancé, Kelly Gardiner of Starks; two daughters, Leann O'Banion Vercher and her husband, Ricky of Pineville and Chrystal O'Banion of Deville; two brothers, Clark O'Banion of Glenmora and Robert O'Banion and his wife, Debbye of Pineville; two sisters, Lola Melder and her husband, Landus of Beaver Creek and Verda Hughes and her husband, Ray of Fayetteville, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Kasie Vercher, Kellie Vercher, Katelyn Vercher, Courtney O'Banion, Eric O'Banion and Hope O'Banion; two great grandchildren, Shawn Vercher and Max Vercher.

Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale on Sunday, November 11, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and on Monday, November 12, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m.
