A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Charles Joseph Rachal at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013 in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, Echo, with Rev. Peter Faulk officiating. Interment will follow in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Cemetery, Echo under the direction of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2013 and again on Friday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday.

Charles Joseph Rachal, age 76 of Alexandria, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013 peacefully in his home.

He is preceded in death by his parents Buvens and Mable Rachal; one brother Jude Rachal and one son Charles Keith Rachal.

Charles served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He retired after 20 years of service with the Rapides Parish School Board. Charles loved to fish, go camping and taking care of his yard. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 58 years Anne Jean Rachal; one son Timothy John "Boo" Rachal of Alexandria; three grandchildren: Jamie James and husband Nate of Pineville, Linley Edith Rachal of Destin, Florida and Derrick Anthony Keith Rachal of Alexandria; two great grandchildren Raven and Dillan Wood of Gardner; one sister Randy Palmer of Tomball, Texas and his very special friends Mike and Jan Rodgers of Alexandria.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Derrick Anthony Keith Rachal, Curt Thompson, John Jenise, Kent Milton, James Kramer and Sandy Guillory. Honorary pallbearer will be Colin Guillory.
