I am saddened to hear William has passed on to the heavens he studied and taught us about. He was one of the great professor at the University of Rhode Island. I thoroughly enjoyed his astronomy class I took 42 years ago. I wish peace and happiness to his family.

Nancy, I am so sorry for your loss. I remember you as one of the first people to greet me at DCCCP. Reading Bill's obituary I learned a lot about his interesting life and his contributions to his passion for astronomy. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

As one of his students from the early 1960's, I shall never forget his admonition to all of us in his class. "All the time, all the time, draw a free body diagram." I have recalled and used that admonition many times throughout my career. Thank you for a very worthwhile lesson.

One of my favorite and interesting professors at URI. Thank you for helping me with my last final which I was unable to take due to an auto accident. You got me to graduate and walk the walk.
You are often in my thoughts and thanks.
You will be missed.
