Adam N. Cheli, of Westerly, passed away at his home on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014 at the age of 27.
Born in Somers Point, N.J., he was the beloved son of Lorraine Cheli, of Westerly and Mark Cheli of Santa Maria, Calif. Adam worked as a landscaper and was an avid cyclist. A proud cancer survivor, Adam had a strong connection with God, striving to do one good deed per day and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a supporter of the Anchor Recovery Community Center in Pawtucket. Adam was a gentle soul who will be sorely missed.
In addition to his parents, Adam is survived by a brother, Scott Cheli and a half-brother, Myles Cheli, both of Santa Maria, Calif.; and paternal grandparents who live in the North East.
Visiting hours are omitted. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday at 10 a.m. at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be made to the Anchor Recovery Community Center, 249 Main St., Pawtucket, R.I. 02860 in Adam's memory. Rest in peace, dear Adam. Last saw you when you were 10 and caught that big fish in Grassy Sound. All of us were so proud of you and it was even noted in the local paper. Our hearts go out in sympathy to your family and friends. Now you are with Aunt Leah, and God has given you peace. Love forever, Aunt Ann and the Verdi, Schwarz, and Maurano families.
