At her request, no services will be held for Vivian L. Orr, 90, of Coos Bay.

She was born March 24, 1914, to John and Margaret (Russell) Haagensen, in Langlois. She died of age-related causes on Oct. 5, 2004, in Coos Bay.

Vivian, a "Langlois Girl," grew up in a small town that, because there were so few students, she played basketball on the boys team and ran on the boys relay team in track. As a young girl, she dearly loved the community dances on the weekends.

Vivian went to work for the telephone company as a switchboard operator before she married, and worked right up to today's modern phone systems before retiring. She was married 68 years to John Orr, who preceded her in death in 2002.

She leaves her family with many lovely memories of both her zaniness and her graciousness.

She is survived by her daughter, Norma Orr of Coos Bay and Joanie and husband, Leroy Bracelin of Coos Bay; grandchildren, Mary and Keith Lewis of Hillsboro, John Musser of North Bend, Patrick and Amanda Musser of Beaverton, Tracie and Rick Skinner of Coos Bay, Gary and Georell Bracelin of Bend and Chuck and Joanna Bracelin of Coos Bay; and great-grandchildren, Melanie Burch of Provo, Utah, Jessica Skinner of Corvallis, Raven Skinner of Coos Bay, Shaun Skinner of Coos Bay, Trey Bracelin of Bend, Jace Bracelin of Bend, Tucker Bracelin of Coos Bay and Brogan Bracelin of Coos Bay.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Boys & Girls Club of Southwestern Oregon, 3333 Walnut Ave., Coos Bay, OR 97420; or a charity of choice.

Norma & Joanie,

I just talked to Nancy today and found out about your mom. Usually I check the Obits, but have been too busy lately. I know how difficult these last few years have been and now Viv has to be in a better place.

I've been remembering all the good times we had with your family. Nancy & I never tired of eaves dropping (they knew we were there)on our mothers' conversations. They had the wildest experiences.....we would laugh until our sides hurt. Even Knute use to love to go over to Shore Pines when your mom was visiting his Granny. He was just as entertained as we were.....some people are ageless.....they sure were. Heaven is a happier place with the Coos County gang there.

I have so many memories of cherished conversations, with Vivian.

Norma and Joanie; I'm not sure you even know the relationship, I had with your Mom. She was the best! Forever young and so much fun!

I will never forget her.
