Amos Hines Jr. Obituary
Amos Hines Jr., age 77, of Forrest City, died Monday, July 9, 2018.
Amos was born Aug. 14, 1940, to the late Amos Hines Sr. and Lucreasy (Foots) Hines. He was the third of 14 children.
Amos professed hope in Christ at an early age. He was a 1962 graduate of Lincoln High School. Amos was employed with the Millington Air Force Base during his early life. Later on, he became certified as an HVAC technician and repairing air conditioners became his passion.
On May 24, 1997, Amos married the love of his life, Sharon Henderson Hines. To this union five children were born.
Amos is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mario Montrell Hines; a brother, Elder James Hines and a sister, Magnolia Reese.
Amos leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Sharon Henderson Hines; father-in-law, Clyde Sr. (Brenda) Chism of Forrest City; six sons, Elijah Henderson, Nicholas Henderson, Rodney Hines, Amos Hines III and Kantrel D. Hines, all of Forrest City and Jerome Hines of Memphis; two daughters, Keoshia Hines of Forrest City and Monique Hines of Memphis; four brothers, Elton (Alvirgil) Hines and Enrico Hines, both of Forrest City, Carnell (Carolyn) Hines of Dallas and Harold David Hines of Lancaster, Texas; seven sisters, Zennie Mae Crawford of Dallas, Margie Lee Whitney of Hawthorne, Calif., Olevia (Bishop Samuel) Brown of Plano, Texas, Corine (Arthur) Broadnax, Florine Williams and Flossie Mae Hines, all of Memphis; three sisters-in-law, Pam (Ronald) McFadden, Kehila (Gary) Gardner and Yulanda (Tony) Morgan, all of Forrest City; four brothers-in-law, Clyde Chism Jr., Kevin D. Chism, Brian Chism and Christopher Chism, all of Forrest City and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, July 20, 2018, from 2 to 5 p.m., at Kincaid Funeral Services.
The funeral service for Amos will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at noon at New Rising Sun M.B. Church with Pastor Timothy J. McFadden delivering the eulogy. Burial will be at Hines Family Cemetery.
Kincaid Funeral Services of Forrest City is in charge of arrangements.
