James Lee "Famous" Jones Obituary
James Lee "Famous" Jones Jr., was born Oct. 29, 1953, to the late James Lee Jones Sr. and Ruby Lewis Jones (who preceded him in death) in Terrell. He was the second child of two children. He was called from labor to reward on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.
Famous attended Christ Church Episcopal School and Lincoln School in Forrest City. He was employed for 40 years for Addison Shoe Factory in Wynne. He was a skillful bass guitarist and played for the original Majestic Wonders.
Famous Jones leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife, Betty J. Breathett-Jones; children, LaQuoarey (Corey) Jones (LaKisha), Kendri L. Herring (Montanez), Tammira C. Jones, Damon Humphrey, Cathy Humphrey-Pitts (Andre) and Marcus Buford; a special granddaughter he loved as a daughter, Amber J. Jones-Brewer (Carlton); one sister, Evelyn Jones-Talley (Thaldaris); a special niece, Tracye N. Jones; a special cousin whom he loved as a sister, Paulette V. Smith-Taylor (Lincoln) and a special cousin whom he loved as a brother, Percy (Pat) Smith. Grandsons and a granddaughter to cherish his memory are: Quinton Jones, Ashton Jones, Tarik Jones, KeyShawn Jones, Damien Hodges, Dominique Madden, Malachi Buford, Kameron Humphrey, Ashley Humphrey, Damon Humphrey Jr., Devlyn Humphrey and Manija Humphrey. An honorary daughter and grandchildren, Raja Humphrey-Rogers (Albert), Fabin Burks, Labresha Hall and Alandra Burks, and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
Visitation for Famous Jones will be Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Kincaid Funeral Services.
The funeral service for James Lee "Famous" Jones Jr., 64, of Forrest City, will be held Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, at 2:30 p.m., at the Saints Temple Church of God in Christ with Pastor Lincoln Taylor Jr., delivering the eulogy. Burial will be at Casteel Cemetery.
Kincaid Funeral Services of Forrest City is in charge of arrangements.
