Pearline Rucker Hill Obituary
Pearline Rucker Hill was born in Hughes on Dec. 20, 1945, the daughter of Willie T. Curtis Rucker and Cliff Rucker Sr.
Pearline worked for Holiday Inn of Forrest City for many years after returning from Saint Louis, Mo. After her tenure in the hotel industry, she developed loyal friendships and family bonds working for the Preston Hicky family and they affectionately called her "Peane," and the Michael and Sarah Easley family. She also did casual work for several other families as well. After retiring briefly, she decided to establish "Mudea's Daycare" where she cared for many children.
Pearline was a member of the Cornerstone M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Leon Simes where she served on the usher's board under Katherine Thompson, but she would often attend United Christian M.B. Church and Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Marianna.
Pearline, affectionately known as "Mudea" to her family, always found herself going above and beyond for everyone in her life. Whatever Mudea did in her life, big or small, she did with love and goodness, from the bottom of her heart.
Pearline was preceded in death by her parents; her son, William "Snapper" Hunt Jr.; brothers, Cliff Rucker Jr., and Albert David Earl Lee; an uncle who was raised with Pearline as a brother, Leonard "Bubba" Woodard Sr.; an uncle, Jimmy Curtis, and a special friend, Vera Burgess.
Mudea passed away peacefully on Tuesday, the 8th of May 2018, after a brief illness at Forrest City Medical Center.
Her memories will be forever cherished by her loving husband, David Hill of Widener; her children, Teresa Palmer Jacobs of Memphis, Robert Palmer Jr. and companion Shirley Jones of Madison, Jennifer Hunt and companion Jimmy Kilgore of Widener, Sylvia "Cookie" Jones of Jonesboro and Darrell Palmer of Madison; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Tarzan (Diane) Lee, Roy Rucker and Joey Rucker, all of Madison, Columbus (Geraldine) Rucker of Forrest City, Alquincy Rucker of Denver, Colo., Clyde White of Detroit, Mich., and Bruce Rucker of Houston, Texas; sisters, Willie Jean Redmon of Jonesboro, Lela (Theodis) Goodwin of Madison, Erma (Earsell) Wells of Helena-West Helena, Nadine Davis of Nashville, Tenn., and Maxine Rucker of Forrest City; special aunts, Anna "Hannah" Bobo and Lucy Crawford; special friend, Annie Robinson, and a host of stepchildren, step-great-grandchildren, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Pearline "Mudea" Hill will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018, at 10 a.m., at Cornerstone M.B. Church with Dr. Ronald Broussard Sr., D.Th., delivering the eulogy.
Burial will be at Casteel Cemetery with Kincaid Funeral Service of Forrest City in charge of arrangements.
