Ruby Evelyn Tyer Obituary
Mrs. Ruby Evelyn Tyer, age 88, of Forrest City, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017, at the Crestpark Retirement Inn in Forrest City. She had been in poor health for the past six weeks.
Mrs. Tyer was born July 30, 1929, in Henning, Tenn., and was the daughter of Jack Williams and Flossie Conder Williams. She lived in St. Francis County most of her life, was a beautician, a clerk for the Forrest City Water Department and a teacher's aid in the reading program for the Forrest City Middle School. She was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church and a member of the Y.M.W.
Mrs. Tyer married John A. Tyer in 1948, and he preceded her in death in 1999. She had one brother, Travis Williams, and one sister, Josie Williams, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters, Lynne Tyer and husband, Doug Simmons, of Katy, Texas and Sharon Perry, and husband, Allen, of Forrest City; one sister, Sue Pittman of Gibsonton, Fla.; and one grandson, Sam Simmons, and wife, Haley.
Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, from 1 p.m. until the time of the service, at Stevens Funeral Home chapel. Services for Mrs. Tyer will be held Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, at 2 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Forrest Park Cemetery. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
