Lucy Norcott Knapp

On Tuesday January 26, 2021 Lucy Norcott Knapp, loving wife and mother of two, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 71 in Eureka, CA.
Lucy was born on January 19, 1950 in Evanston, Illinois to Bob and Patsy Norcott. Her family moved to Atherton, California when she was eight. After high school she moved to Eureka and attended College of the Redwoods. On November 11, 1972 she married Dennis Knapp and was blessed with two children, Jonathan and Teresa.
Lucy was dedicated to learning all she could about her many interests, including her faith, religious studies, health, and wellbeing. In turn, she found great joy in sharing all she had learned with her family and friends in the hopes of helping others. Lucy loved working as a water aerobics instructor for 15 years at HealthSport and as a tax preparer for H&R Block. She was known for her beautiful smile and generous spirit.
Lucy is survived by her husband of 48 years, Dennis, and her two children, Teresa and Jonathan (Stacey) and three grandchildren (Laura, Colton and Tyler). Lucy often said being a mother was the greatest gift of her life. She is also survived by her four siblings (Judy, Bob, Nancy and Peggy), mother-in-law (Ellie), brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no service at this time, but the family is planning a celebration of her life to be held in the fall. Please join us in saying a prayer for Lucy as she joins her Lord in Heaven. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Eureka Rescue Mission.
