LYLE HENRY RUSSELL Lyle was born on May 1,1930, in Lynch, Nebraska, and died with his wife in hand on September 8, 2018, at the age of 88. In 1948, Lyle graduated from Twin Falls High School in Twin Falls, Idaho, where he met and married his surviving wife Jean of 70 years. They had four children: Jeffrey, Sheila, Bruce, and Kevin. In 1953, Lyle and Jean moved to Eureka; he worked in several lumber companies and Hiram Jensen's Box Factory. In 1958 he dedicated his career of 28 years as a police officer and detective for the Eureka Police Department. He was one of the first motorcycle officers and from this experience enjoyed owning and riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles. After retirement from Eureka PD at the age of 56, he worked for the DA's office and opened a private detective business with his friend Eric Olson who was also a former police and detective partner. Upon retirement, Lyle and Jean enjoyed traveling the United States in their truck with a trailer towing behind meeting family, friends and making new friends along the way. In 1990, Lyle and Jean lost their eldest son, Jeffrey, at the age of 41, and in 2003, their middle son, Bruce, at the age of 47. Lyle's father, Jack; mother, Celia; and brother, Gilbert, passed before him. Lyle will forever be remembered for being a caring and loving husband and father along with his sense of humor joking with family and friends and the sharing of an abalone meal. At Lyle's request, there will not be a memorial service. Please sign the guestbook at www.times-standard.com
