Donna Parsons Obituary
Donna (Holic) Parsons, 59 of Lafayette passed away following an illness on Dec 28, 2018. Her family and friends remain filled with gratitude for the transplanted heart and extraordinary care given by The Denver Hospice. Donna grew up in Monaca PA, earning a B.A. in Education from Slippery Rock College. Her unassuming and low-key lifestyle, and quiet demeanor hid an adventurous spirit. Upon graduation with little more than a backpack and the resolve to always feel independent, she announced to the world: "I am heading for the mountains." She landed in Colorado and taught in elementary schools until early retirement from the St. Vrain school district for health reasons. Donna chaired the Friends of the Lafayette Library committee. She was a quilter with a following and a member of the Interfaith Quilting Group in Longmont. Donna is survived in Colorado by her spouse Scott Parsons, their Daughter Krista and their son Karl. Her parents, John and Betty Holic, reside in the family home in Monaca. She is also survived by her brothers Dan Holic (Arlington, VA) and John Holic (Woodinville, WA). She was preceded in death by her younger brother, Doug. No public service is planned. Those wishing to donate to a charity in her name are directed to TheDenverHospice.org
