Julie Donaldson Obituary

DONALDSON, Julie Anne (nee Waters) September 14th, 1948 - January 7th, 2019 It is with great sadness that we announce Julie's passing into the presence of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ after a courageous battle with Leukemia. Julie passed away peacefully at Saanich Peninsula Hospital surrounded by her family. Born in Vancouver, BC, and pre-deceased by her parents Jack and Ruth Waters and loving husband Jim Donaldson, Julie is survived by brothers Allan (Janet) and Bob (Caroline), son Dale, daughter Lee Mawhinney (Mark), grand-daughter Kara, grandson Keegan and great-grandson Odin. Julie will be deeply missed by many nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Nancy and devoted friends. Julie worked many years in banking, administration for the Government of BC, and locally with Thrifty Foods in Sidney. Upon retirement she committed her life to community service and spiritual outreach. Julie was best known for her kindness, generosity, and abundant love for family, friends, and God. Her quick wit, culinary skills, and selflessness shall be missed. The family would like to thank doctors, nurses, and staff at the BC Cancer Agency and Palliative Care Unit at Saanich Peninsula Hospital. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, January 15th, 2019 at 11:30 am. Hosting will be Peninsula Mission Community Church which meets at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 9300 Willingdon Rd, North Saanich, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of one's choice in loving memory of Julie would be greatly appreciated.

I was very saddened to hear of Julie's passing.
Julie and I were in Boarding school (Queen's Hall) many years ago. I have fond memories of spending time with her and Marilyn (Sewell/Renshaw) in her home on the waters of West Van. I've never forgotten her great sense of humour nor her laugh!
We met again in Sidney where we both lived. She and Jim were always so kind to my mother (who passed on a year ago). She spoke so fondly of them both.
Rest In Peace beautiful soul.

My condolences to Julie's family. Her sense of humour was So spontaneous. I will miss the laughter we shared when we drove back to Sidney after a long day of work. There were times that I nearly drove off the road because of the laughter. She touched many people in her lifetime.
