Aaron R. CLARK

March 21, 1971 - May 15, 2021

The band onstage came to a blistering stop as the small crowd cheered. The moment where the band introduces the next song approached, a voice from the audience heckled, "That was adequate!" The laughter that ensued confirmed it was Aaron, and the band played on.

Absolutely in his element on stage, Aaron was charismatic and larger than life when performing. After 33 years of singing in various punk /metal bands in the Victoria scene, Aaron's teasing, praise, and presence was familiar and loved. If you followed the laughter, you would undoubtedly find Aaron enveloped by decades-old friendships and an unfathomable love. If you got close enough, you might glimpse his vulnerable side, highlighted by a strong desire to love and help others. It is this facet of Aaron that leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of many – especially his daughter, Makayla.

Aaron will also be remembered lovingly by his stepdaughter Ashley and her children, as well as by his family Auntie Cindy, Melissa, Jayden, Jared, Samantha, Caitrin, and by his siblings Jordan and Sarah (his biggest fan). The Jaks Team and Victoria's music scene are filled with other 'brothers and sisters' who adored him, laughed with him, cried with him, and cheered him on as he entertained on stage or navigated his way through challenges. Thank you for being his family, his musical co-creators, and for the tears we shed together as our hearts broke over his sudden passing.

A small service for family members will be held, followed by a post-Covid 'rager' at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Mustard Seed, where Aaron volunteered.
