Alan Oliphant Obituary

OLIPHANT, Alan George September 20, 1942 August 30, 2007 With great sadness, we said our farewells to Alan, a true love, best friend, husband, father, uncle and brother. We will miss his smile, quick wit, genuine character, kind heart and caring ways. Alan was born and raised in Victoria and will be lovingly missed by his wife, Kathryn, daughter Dayle, son Dean and grandchildren Sante and Yasmine, as well as brothers, sisters, extended family, many friends and best `bud' Spook. A celebration of Alan's life will be held at the Interfaith Chapel at the University of Victoria on Wednesday, September 12, at 1:00 pm. Donations to the Mustard Seed Street Church or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC., in lieu of flowers, would be gratefully appreciated. 405672

I remember Alan as a very special person. He was always positive and, even when presented with "goofy" situations, would find the positive - usually with humour. I feel very privileged to have known (and golfed with) him.

Dear Kathryn - I was so shocked to hear the sad news. What a terrible loss for you, your family and us all. Alan was a special colleague and friend - I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with him.
Unfortunately I will be out-of-town next week and will miss the service - but I will be thinking of you and the family at this very sad and difficult time. With condolences - Daphne
