McCULLOCH, Allen Glen September 17, 1953 - July 11, 2015 On Saturday July 11, 2015, our beloved Allen passed away at home in Mill Bay, B.C., with his family by his side. Born in Vancouver, B.C., September 17, 1953. Allen was a loving, devoted family man and a loyal friend with a big heart, he had beautiful eyes, a warm smile and an infectious, hearty laugh. Passionate always, living his life to the fullest. Always game for any adventure, loved people and was happiest when he was out in nature or "making things happen", volunteering, cooking, entertaining, sports, firefighting, working and public service. His extensive travels around the world brought him many, cherished lifelong friends and helped develop his vast knowledge of the world he loved. Predeceased by his loving mother Alma, father Glen, and his sister Valerie. Sadly missed, fondly remembered and will be loved forever by his partner Susan Malloch and her large clan, including 7 grandchildren, his two daughters Jenn and Sarah and their mother Diane, his sister Anne Klein (Steve), niece Kelly Little (Mike), nephew Patrick Scott (Jenn), 5 great nieces and 1 great nephew, and his 5 loyal canine companions. A celebration of Allen's life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the S.V.I. Rangers Hall at 3498 Luxton Rd off Happy Valley Rd., 1:00-4:00pm. Sincere thanks to the staff at Coolaid Clinic Victoria, HepCBC (which Allen was a valued board member), and 4 south RJH. If desired any donations to HepCBC in Allen's honour would be much appreciated.

I knew Allen through the time we shared as firefighters with the View Royal Volunteer Fire Department. Allen served his community for over 10 years and retired as an honourary member.

Allen had a smile that would light up any room. His warm sense of humour, his enthusiasm, his compassion for people, and his love for his family were unwavering.

One year I asked Allen to come down to the Rainbow Sea Cadet barracks and put on a woodworking class for the teenagers. They built bird feeders. He taught them how to measure and cut the wood; how to use a screwdriver and a power drill. Most kids had never touched a tool before and were very proud of their creations. He fostered a great sense of enthusiasm with his students. I honestly don't know who had more fun - the kids or him. That was Allen...

Rest in peace my friend.

Jenn, Sarah, Diane, Susan, Anne and family, we were so saddened to hear of Allen's passing. Although our paths crossed for a short time, our memories of Allen are very fond. To Als immediate and extended family,my sincere condolences on Als passing. I met Al on the 4 Mile smoking deck a number of years ago. He had the capability of finding out"who was who and who did what"in short order due to his outgoing personality. Upon finding out I had a truck and knew which end of a hammer to use,I was then destined to become part of his renovation team for about 3 years untill he moved up island. Al was one of the nicest guys, off and at work resulting in becoming a real good friend. He always thanked us at the end of the day for a job well done and an outstanding boss to work for. I will always cherish his friendship along with our laughs around our"after work koolies"back in the day and will always miss him greatly. If Heaven needs any work done,Im sure he is already on the job in earnest. Regards,B.Bruce

My loving brother. You will be truly missed by all of us, especially your family who were always foremost in your thoughts. I wished we had more time to grow old together. I find comfort knowing you are with our mom and sister Valerie watching down at us from above. You were so important to our family as a brorher, brother in law and fun and loving uncle..."Uncle Al the children's pal". I miss you.

Words can't express how sad I/we feel but knowing that you're free of pain and are continuing your travels thru Heaven, brings comfort as does the many fond memories we share. To Jenn and Sarah, our beautiful daughters, though today and every tomorrow starts without your Dad, his spirit is right there in your hearts shining brightly. Safe journey, Diane.
