JOHNSON, Beverley Ann On June 29th at 4:45 PM a group of angels came and removed Beverley Ann Johnson from this mortal coil giving her the release that she needed by allowing her to join them. Perhaps you felt the brush of her hand as she went, maybe she paused and said "It's alright" as she went. She left behind her husband, Stephen L. Burt, her siblings, Maurice, Barbara, Brian and Robert and a host of friends who miss her enormously. The friends were widely spread from those in the Uni 101 program under the able hands of Dr. Rebecca Cory to the folks at the Our Place Society where she volunteered many months and frankly to all those she met who loved her as she loved them. To meet Bev was to love her, and her compassion for the needs of others, whether they were Excel programmers or care workers or the homeless, Bev never saw herself as special and in that she was so special, in typing this my heart is breaking and I need more Kleenex, but I feel her patting my shoulder saying it's alright. She helped by leaving an item in her favorites by Rilke which is "Requiem for a Friend". I was so sad and yet here she was, reaching back, providing comfort. The 43 years we had together are not over, but the relationship is changed as it is with that of all those who loved her. Rest in Peace A celebration of life will be held at Out Place Society which will have August 12 as a special day in honor of her contribution to the Society and the people it served. Please come and see the good work done there and think of Bev here reaching out to those not as fortunate. Have a coffee and maybe a meal, we are sponsoring the meals all day on August 12th, (her birthday). A separate celebration and an online sign in page will be set up soon but I have had some problems with arrangements for everything including a major renovation where we lived for 21 years. Contributions to the Our Place Society or any other charity of your choice will be appreciated. Thank you all, Stephen
