our deepest condolences to Ray's family. We knew Ray back in the late 1980s and in the 1990s when we had our farm. One time his calf, Fuddrucker escaped while Ray was out. We saw Fuddrucker eating flowers in a neighbour's garden and hurried over there with a rope hoping to catch him. Fortunately, he was pretty docile and easy to catch. And luckily just as we had caught him someone came over from Ray's place to take Fuddrucker home. I remember his two pigs, Torville and Dean. He always had quite a menagerie of animals and stories to tell. Very sorry that he is gone.

Ray & Joan moved next door to us a few years after we arrived in Metchosin. They were the very best of neighbours and friends. Ray was always there to lend a hand. We kept an eye out for each other's places. It's just the way it was, and it will never be the same. Go well dear Ray.

Ray was a great friend to Irving Dowman all through school and during their adult years. I got to know Ray quite well during the 90's and beyond, and we shared some happy meals at Spinnakers.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences, and I will be sure to raise a glass (or 2) in memory of Ray.

l will never forget Uncle Ray. I hadn’t seen him often for many years. He was always very friendly and welcoming. I’ll never forget his radio announcer clear voice. If I remember correctly “CFAX 1070”

My brothers and I grew up a few doors away from the Orchard family - we were on Brighton Ave. they lived on Davie Street. We
enjoyed many wonderful play times with Audrey and Ray over
several years of being neighbors. I particularly remember their
wonderful dad and mother - dad would sometimes show us films
that he had brought home from his job with the Forestry Dept.
