FOSTER, Eleanor May (Vantreight) Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on January 13, 2006 at Saanich Peninsula Hospital. Eleanor was born in Victoria on May 06, 1918 to Saanich pioneer's Jean and Sydney Vantreight. Predeceased by her loving husband Maurice in 1968, and her three brothers, Gerald, Robert and Donald Vantreight. Survived by her loving children, six daughters and one son, Ruth (Frank) Copley, Agassiz B.C., Jeanie (Rob) Copley, Maureen (Marty) Martyn, Victoria B.C., David Foster, Los Angeles CA, Marylou (Ian) Eales, Woodland Hills CA, Barbara Foster, Vancouver B.C., Colleen Jaymes Foster, Los Angeles CA. Fourteen grandchildren, Frank (Nancy) Copley, Maureen Lomax, Jim Lomax, Tanya (Kirk) Jensen, Darren (Claudia) Copley, Lane (Gillian) Copley, Janel (Brad) Copley-Mellafont, Amy (Simon) Gillies, Sara, Erin and Jordan Foster, Allison (Brent) Jones, Kyle (Nhu) Formo, and stepgrandchildren Brandon and Brody Jenner. Also fourteen great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored. Eleanor also leaves her sisters-in-law Dorothy "Russy" Foster and Ella Foster, several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Eleanor was a loving mother, Grammy and G.G. who loved life, and lived it to the fullest. If she was not playing cards or bingo with her many friends, she was off traveling the world to some exciting social event with her family. Mum did it "her way", living in her own home, and still driving her car. Good for you mum!! You will be greatly missed by all. The family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. Amanda Naismith for her compassion and wonderful care. Thanks also to the nurses and staff at Saanich Peninsula Hospital and Royal Jubilee Hospital who took care of her and also became her friend over the past several years. A celebration of Eleanor's life will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2006 at 3 p.m. at North Douglas Pentecostal Church, 675 Jolly Place, Victoria, B.C. Rev. Gordon Thurston officiating.
