I am reading this with great sadness. I was lucky enough to know Sharon through working with her at Kitchener Elementary. After that, we did keep in touch for several years but not for the past couple of years. She was a special person, always a smile and very sound advice. I know she will be missed immensley and my thoughts are with you at this time of loss in your lives.

To Sharon's "Children:
I'm aware that in less than an hour the memorial service will begin in Parksville. It's nearly 4:30 here in Ontario.

My latest memory of Sharon is from June of 2005 when a number of the "girls" from our Bridge Club rented a cottage at Bowen Island.

One early morning Sharon and I were in the kitchen and shared updates of our lives. She told me about all of you and was so proud of each one.

My husband and I have spent years in ministry. We know how difficult it is to deal with grief. One thought is to share stories of your mother - and grandmother. Keep them in a Memory Box" and share them in good times and sad times. It's a legacy to pass on.
My sympathy to you all.

Dear Dean, Scott, Tracy, Jodi and families,
I am your mother's cousin, Lorraine. I am deeply sad to hear of your mother's sudden passing. I was very sad to hear about Sharon's passing. I taught with Sharon at Aubrey Elementary School in Burnaby, where she was well loved for her professionalism, her sunny approach to everyday and most of all for her amazing sense of humour. Sharon was sometimes part of an 'all girl' sailboat crew at that time and all involved have many hilarious and happy memories of our escapades.( Inexperience ruled the day for all of us.) I had not seen Sharon for many, many years but only a few months ago found myself sitting next to her at St Andrews Cathedral. She looked well and happy and we shared a good laugh about past times. I was shocked to hear about her untimely passing. My condolences to all her family. A bright light like Sharon will be sorely missed.

Your mother was an especially good friend of my wife, Vernadene. We enjoyed our trips to Mexico, and our times in B.C. and AZ with her. Vernadene passed away on March 1 and Sharon spoke at her memorial service in Vancouver. I know the grief her family and friends have with her passing.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Mum. I worked with her for a couple of years at Kitchener School in Burnaby and she was a fabulous teacher--always organized and on top of any situation. Her sense of humour and lovely laugh helped soothe many ruffled feathers.
Scott we worked together at QE in Vancouver many years ago--I'm so sorry for you and your family.
Sharon left a positive mark on everyone she touched and you can all be very proud of her.

Sharon and I met when we were 8 years old, and we both went to General Gordon School. We have kept in touch on and off over the years, particularly when she and Bob lived in Victoria. We both had Raleigh bicycles at age about 9, hers was white and mine was black, and I know I have some pictures.
Sharon, Ina Rule (Sherlock)and I were a week apart in our birthdays, and had shared many memories together. We lost Ina at age 42, now Sharon, just me left of the 3 of us.
I will try to make the service.
