Carol SHIELDS

SHIELDS Carol Ann, nee Warner June 2, 1935 - July 16, 2003. The family of author Carol Shields announces with sorrow her death Wednesday evening, July 16, in Victoria, at the age of 68, of complications from breast cancer. Carol leaves herhusband Don, her children, John Shields, Anne Shields Giardini, Catherine Shields, Meg Shields and Sara Cassidy Shields, their spouses Audrey, Tony, Edward, Richard and Simon, and her grandchildren, Grace and Jay Shields, Joseph, Nicholas and Sofia Giardini, Evan and Eli Dzik, Rebecca and Emma Yampolsky-Shields, and Hazel and Ezra Shields. Carol also leaves her brother Robert Warner and sister Barbara Hipple, many nephews and nieces, and countless friends and readers.
