ROUNDHILL, Dr. Ashleigh July 16th, 1930 - December 21st, 2015 Ashleigh, sometimes known as "Paddy," was born in Northern Ireland, and died peacefully in Victoria on December 21st 2015. He studied medicine at Queen's University in Belfast, where he won the Symington medal for Anatomy, before practising medicine in England, Labrador, Ghana, and at sea. He married Beryl in 1964, and they made their home in Parry Sound, Ontario. In 1971, the family moved to BC where he became a partner in the Vernon Medical Clinic. Ashleigh retired in 1993 and moved to Victoria, where he loved to walk, especially beside the ocean. He loved sailing, skiing and tennis. He was a Paul Harris Rotary Fellow, and an active Anglican. His passions included the work of Sorrento Centre and of Doctors Without Borders, as well as making marmalade, watching birds, and doing cryptic crosswords. He was a member of the Probus Club of Oak Bay. Celebrating his life, and forever remembering him with blueberry cheesecake are his loving family: wife Beryl, daughter Jennifer (Mark), sons Peter (Christina) and Tom (Louisa), grandchildren Chloe, Eben, Eric, Abigail, Tyla, and Levi, and sister-in-law Marion. No flowers, please: gifts in Ashleigh's memory may be sent to Sorrento Centre. A service of Thanksgiving will be held at St. John the Divine, 2 pm on January 9th, 2016.
