I feel lucky to be left with so many memories of being around Lyle. He taught me a lot during the three real estate transactions we were involved in. Who can sell 72 acres in a municipality that says 'no' to everything, during a recession? Only Lyle Kahl. He became a valued friend, found my current home for me and of course, negotiated a deal that I was (almost) embarrassed to enjoy. Many late night phone calls to arrange the sale of the mountain over the course of many months, usually to make sure my folks weren't worried about anything, he'd rather put it on me. That's an example of the heart he had, looking out for people first, while still getting the business done. When my own dad passed, a former coworker of his told me that he was a great man. I knew that, but it had strong impact, hearing it from someone outside of the family. So to the Kahl family, my sincere condolences. I loved the guy. Lyle Kahl was indeed, a great man.

I remember Lyle when he and Donna owned and ran the Motel on the Colwood crawl back in the early 70's, then he enter politics becoming the new Social Credit MLA for Esquimalt. Fond memories indeed. Heartfelt condolences to Donna and family

We are so sorry to hear of the loss of Lyle. He was a true community leader and friend to our family. Always a kind word or advise on property he would share when we would bump into him. We will miss him and hope that your entire family is safe and well. Take care. The Saunders Family
