Joyce M. Canaday

Joyce Marie Canaday, 77, a native of Iron City, Tenn. and a resident of Lauderdale County, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013, at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing and Rehab Center. She was a member of Broadway Baptist Church and loved attending events at St. Florian Senior Center.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 14, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at 1 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Brother Marty Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Canaday was preceded in death by her husband, C.E. "Bubber" Canaday; parents, Thomas and Lorene Purser.

She is survived by her sons, Gary Canaday, of St. Florian, Steve Canaday (Mary), of Florence; daughter, Susan Canaday-Newsome (Chris), of Northport, Ala.; brothers, Malcolm Purser, of St. Joseph, Tenn., Carroll and David Purser, both of Iron City, Tenn.; sisters, Delphine Secaur, of Collinwood, Tenn., Katherine Wallace of Coeur D-Alene Idaho; grandson, Bradley Canaday, of Florence.

Active pallbearers will be Malcolm Purser, Carroll Purser, David Purser, Ralph Richey, Don Strait and Ray Hudson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Pardue, Sam Hudson, Ricky Springer, Carlene Moomaw and Teresa Lovell.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing and Rehab Center.
