Jimmy L. Price

Jimmy Levon Price, age 72, of Cloverdale, Ala., was called home by his Lord and Savior on July 24, 2009. He was a member and deacon of Parker's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. He served his country for eight years in the U.S. Air Force. He was retired from the Florence Police Department. After he retired, he worked part-time at Cousson's Convenience Store on Cloverdale Road.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2009, at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2009, at Parker's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. The body will be placed in the church at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Gary Marks and the Rev. David Long will officiate. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery, with police honors accorded at graveside.

Mr. Price was preceded in death by his father, Roley Price.

He is survived by his wife, Lila M. Price; mother, Atwood Price; sons, Dale Price (Kathy), Jimmy Price (Michelle), Dennis Price (Becky); daughter, Diane Woods (Barry); brothers, Jerry, Daniel and Keith Price; sisters, Marlene Weeks, all of Florence, Doris Freitag, of Texas City, Texas; grandchildren, Jason, Bradley and Rachel Woods, Phillip and Benjamin Price, Valerie Price Vaughn (Matthew), Amanda Price, Meagan and Lindsey Price.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed the company of others and was always quick with a joke. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Active pallbearers will be the Florence city police officers.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
