James W. Schonely , 78, of Norristown passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 23, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born December 21, 1935 in Norristown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Walter W. and Juanita (Hoch) Schonely, and loving husband to Joanne Schonely. James was best known for being the "Voice of Kennedy-Kenrick Basketball", he loved announcing at all of the home games, he was also involved at Gwynedd Mercy as the announcer as well, he was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and dear friend to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him and he will be dearly missed. Survivors include one son; Christopher Schonely, of Philadelphia., three daughters; Lisa (John) Sgarlata, of Ft. Meyers FL., Susan (Marc) Stapleton, of E. Norriton, Melissa "Missy" (Jamie) Mancini, of Eagleville., Two brothers; William (Dorothy) Schonely, of Portland OR., Richard Schonely, of Norristown, nine grandchildren; Joseph, Andrew and Ryan Tuturice, Stefanie Perrone, Michael and Haleigh Stapleton, Hannah Lamont- Schonely, Lauren and Erin Mancini. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing for James on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Thursday, March 27, 2014, from 10:00 am - 10:45 am, at the Caramenico Funeral Home, Main & Walnut Sts.,, Ntn.,, Pennsylvania. Mass will follow the viewing on Thursday at 11:00 am at the Holy Saviour Church, 407 E Main St. Ntn, PA. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in the St. Patrick's Cemetery.
