Dean Miller Obituary

Nov. 3, 1924 - Nov. 7, 2017 Vallejo Dean Leroy Miller, passed away on Nov. 7, at home surrounded by his loving family. Dean was born in Las Animas, CO, Nov. 3, 1924. He was all American athlete in high school. In the spring of 1943 he enlisted in to the US Army. In the fall he married his first love Priscilla in Mississippi. He then went on to serve for three years in World War II serving under General Patton and was the third wave in Normandy,France. He worked for several years for PG&E in California and after approximately 32 years retired from Mare Island Naval shipyard. He was a member of over 50 years of the Masons and the Eastern Star. Had a passion for sports, loved animals, collecting rocks, reading books and watching old western movies. He is preceded in death by both of his parents; four of his siblings; his first wife of 52 years, Priscilla Miller, and two of his five children, Deanna Lee Beard and Marilyn Combs. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Rosita Miller; three children, Roxanna Kay Beard (Ed), Greggory Elec Miller (Bridgete) and Garry Dean Miller (Mary); three loving stepdaughters of Rositas. He had several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Celebration of life will be at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, Nov. 21, at 3 p.m.
