March 17, 1934 - June 2, 2018 Felix Gonzales died peacefully at home on June 2, in Vallejo, at the age of 84, after a long-term illness. Felix is survived by his wife, Celerina; children, Stephen of Vallejo, Michael (Karen) and Jeffrey (Joanne), both of San Jose; brother, Claro, of Union City; three grandchildren, Rachel, Mahlia and Kaleo. He was preceded in death by his sister, Venus, of Hayward. Felix was born on March 17, 1934, in Maragondon, Cavite, Philippines, to Antonino and Eugenia. He joined the Philippine Air Force and later transferred to the United States Navy in 1959. In April 1970, he married Celerina after meeting in Chatham, Ontario, Canada. They relocated to Charleston, SC, where their sons were born. In 1982, after 23 years of military service, Felix retired from the US Navy, achieving the rank of Master Senior Chief, and in the same year earned an Associate in Science (AS) degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales College. In July 1985, his family relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area where they took residence in Vallejo. Felix worked for the US Postal Service until retirement in 1999. In retirement, Felix continued to see the world with his wife through trips and cruises to places around the globe, including Europe, the Holy Land, and Southeast Asia. They also spent time in their second home in Las Vegas, NV. Felix was an avid Bay Area sports fan with his favorite teams being the San Francisco 49ers, San Francisco Giants, and the Golden State Warriors. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 4 p.m., on Thursday, June 14, at All Souls Cemetery and Funeral Center, 550 Glen Cove Road, Vallejo. The Vigil will follow at 7 p.m., also at All Souls. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., on Friday, June 15, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 3450 Tennessee St., Vallejo. The Committal will follow at All Souls Cemetery and Funeral Center, 550 Glen Cove Road, Vallejo, at 12 p.m.
