March 10, 1946 - Nov. 20, 2017 Vallejo Elder James A. Jefferson (known affectionately as "Jim"), passed away peacefully at La Mariposa Nursing and Rehab Center in Fairfield. Elder Jefferson was born and raised in Vallejo where he also attended local schools. After graduating high school, he enlisted and served in the United States Army for five years. In his 71 years of life, Elder Jefferson endeavored to help people from all levels in life. He served as president of a foster care organization while fostering children in his home; was a City Commissioner for the City of Vallejo, and authored the "Where It's At" column in the Vallejo Times Herald for eight years. He also worked in international finance and was founder of Cendot International. However, Elder Jefferson's passion was preaching and singing about the gospel of Jesus Christ. As an international evangelist, Elder Jefferson shared the good news of the gospel throughout the world. Elder Jefferson was also the former pastor of All Nations Missionary COGIC in Vallejo. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 21 years, Evangelist Joy Jefferson; daughters, Tiffany and Jayde Jefferson; step-daughter, Rachel Nisperos; step-sons, Saturnino (Sandra) and Carlo Nisperos; grandchildren, Brittany Hill, Arland Jefferson, John and Adrian Soller, Jacob Nisperos, Gabrielle Head; brother, Pastor P. Daniels (Camille) Jefferson and sister, Rose Bolds, along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by parents, Pastor Perless Jefferson and Mother Willie Mae Jefferson; step-mother, Mother Junelda Jefferson; brother, Bernell Jefferson and niece, Brenda Gray. Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 27, from 3 to 8 p.m., at Wiggins Knipp Funeral Home, 524 Capitol St., Vallejo. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 11 a.m., at Rehoboth World Outreach Center, 245 Holly St., Vallejo, Pastor P. Daniels Jefferson officiating. Private interment at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon.
