1937 - 2018 Notice Condolences
June 30, 1937 - Aug. 28, 2018 Vallejo Robert D. "Bob" Currie, 81, passed away Tuesday at Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo following a brief illness. Bob was born to James and Mary Currie on June 30, 1937 in Muskegow Heights, MI and has lived in Vallejo the past 50 years. He served in the U.S. Navy for three years and worked in Shop 72 on Mare Island Naval Shipyard for 30 years, retiring in 1993. Bob enjoyed being a Little League Coach in the late 70's and early 80's at Central Vallejo Little League. He was a member of the Vallejo Elk's Lodge, Vallejo Moose Club, and Shriners, and he also served as the president of the Vallejo Aquatics Swim Club. His parents preceded him in death. Survivors include his sons, Michael and David (Kristy Avellar) Currie; grandchildren, Jacob Currie, Danielle Currie and Aiden Whittington; his longtime companion, June Fear; and his former wife and mother of his children, Judith (Derrian) Currie. A Celebration of Life will be held and announced at a later date. He will be laid to rest at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon.
