Franklin Fine Obituary

Franklin Reese Fine, 84, a resident of Slocum Township, expired on Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, shortly after admission.
He was born in Slocum Township, Oct. 2, 1920, and was a son of the late William Butler Fine and Helen Sofia Stoss Fine. He was a coal miner in Wanamie for over 15 years, and was last employed as a rail car burner at Berwick Forge and Fabricating. Mr. Fine was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Dorrance Township. He and his wife, the former Ethel Moyer, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 19, 2004.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Patricia Fine Miller, Dalton, Pa.; Glenda Fine Supkowski, Slocum Township; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Ann Deets and Nell Yeager, both of Slocum Township; Marian Cabelly, Riverside, Pa.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday from Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Blue Ridge Trail at Alberdeen Road, Dorrance Township, with pastor Neil D. Partington officiating. Interment will follow in the cemetery adjoining the church.
Friends may call at the McCune Funeral Home, 80 South Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 7768 Blue Ridge Trail, Mountain Top, PA 18707.
