Jean Francona Obituary
New Brighton - Jean A. Francona, 86, a lifelong resident of New Brighton, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
Born July 11, 1934 in New Brighton, she is the daughter of the late Dominic and Velma (Nemecek) Pasquale. Jean was a member of Holy Family Parish, New Brighton, where she was known for her deep devotion to her Catholic faith. Jean enjoyed a long career in the banking industry. She was always fashionably attired, loved to travel all over the world and spend time with her family and friends. One of Jean's passions was watching America's favorite past time, Major League Baseball.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, John "Tito" Francona, 2018.
Surviving are her siblings, Dorothy Sigler, Conway; John (Maureen) Pasquale, Beaver Falls, Robert (Carol) Pasquale, North Sewickley Twp., Joseph (Bernadette) Pasquale, South Park, many nieces, nephews and their families.
Friends will be received Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. until time of prayer at 12:30 p.m. in the J & J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Ave, New Brighton. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. in Holy Family Parish, New Brighton. Fr. Tom Kredel, officiating. CDC guidelines of masks and social distancing will be followed at the funeral home and church.
Private interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation for the great care dignity and loving compassion shown to Jean by the wonderful care workers of Elmcroft and those from Gateway Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask you to send any donations to Heritage Valley Health System Foundation, 420 Rouser Road, Suite 102, Moon Township, PA 15108.

Jean became my cousin by my father marrying her Aunt. often when I saw her she always remembered call my dad Uncle Nicky when young. I last saw Jean at Tito's memorial (who grew up close to me in NB). another connection is that her brother John and I not only graduated together but were classmates from 2nd grade thru NBHS class of '59.

Jean was a lovely person. I would see her and Tito at morning mass at Holy Family and think what a kind and special couple they were. So loving and helpful to each other. Nice to think of them together again. Thoughts and prayers for all of Jeans'family

So sad to learn of Jean’s passing. She was a beautiful woman. She always had a smile on her face. I always enjoyed seeing her when my husband’s class at NBHS had their reunion. Her husband Tito graduated with Don. We would like to offer our sympathy to Jean’s family and friends. I know that there are many pleasant memories of Jean that will help everyone through this sad time. Much Love to all. ❤
