Larry W. Baker

66, of Carrollton, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2018 at his home in Carrollton following a ten-year battle with cancer. Born in Pineville, Ky., he was the son of the late Joe L. and Louise Sanders Baker and was a graduate of Conotton Valley High School. In the 70's, Larry worked in the oil fields, in the 80's and 90's he worked as a truck driver and retired as a pipe fitter with a fire suppression company. He was a pipe fitter by trade but a farmer at heart, Larry also liked re-finishing furniture, loved his Harley and his John Deere tractor that he restored and kept running. He was also a member of the Tabor Ridge Community Church in Mineral City.

Surviving are his wife, the former Deb "Anna" Wilson of the residence; daughters, Jennifer Drake and Jodi Baker of Carrollton and Ricole (Ricci) Sanders of Dover; a son, Justin (Gabrielle) Baker of Minerva; sisters, Diane (Charles) Smith of Hamilton, Ohio and Linda (Joe) Arnold of Uhrichsville; brothers, Ron (Tina) Baker and Darrell Baker of Carrollton and Bobby Joe (Beverly) Baker of Montgomery City, Mo., and his grandchildren, Zachary, Zoe, Austin, Jade, Landen, Clara, Brynn, Hadley and Orion. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a brother, Donald "Duke" Baker; a son, Nathan and a granddaughter, Jordan.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. in Calvary United Methodist Church at Sherrodsville with Pastor John Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Sherrodsville Memorial Gardens at Sherrodsville. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
