Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 2, 2009.
Delores M. Nigro, 71, of Dover died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, in Union Hospital.
Born Jan. 17, 1938, in Dover, she was a daughter of the late Homer and Catherine Walton Harding. Delores was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be most sadly missed by her family. She was described as being a huge movie buff, taking in many, many films over the years. Delores also enjoyed crocheting, making special afghans for family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Nick V. Nigro Sr., with whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage on Jan. 9 of this year; two daughters, Angela Hochstetler of Virginia Beach, Va., and Gina Garber of Clarksville, Tenn.; two sons, Nick Jr. and John Nigro, both of Dover; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Delores was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Archinal and Mary Hockenberry; and by three brothers, Joe Hersher, Richard and Paul Harding.
Delores will be cremated through the care of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover. Her cremated remains will be buried in a private ceremony later in Dover Burial Park. To sign an online guestbook and share a fond memory of Delores, please visit the funeral home's Web site and click on Obituaries.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

I will miss visiting with Delores, and Nick, her husband. I enjoyed sharing fond memories and stories with her at their home over by M&M Market. She was incredibly happy to finally be out of the hospital this past weekend and the joy of watching her and her husband smile that day will always be a cheerful memory. My sister and I prayed for her this past week and even though she is leaving everyone at an early age, it is good to know she will no longer have to suffer and can now go home to her final resting place with the Lord. Peace to her, her husband Nick Sr., my very good friend Nick Jr. and their entire family,,,
