I knew Dick for quite some time, and bought almost all my architectural hardware from him. I was shocked to hear the news, and very saddened. Dick was a good man; always fair. Please know that he did not live in vain, but many people were substantially helped by him, and I'm sure God knows all that, and remembers!

Dear Mimi, Family and Angie, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. As former neighbors of Richards we have only happy memories of the times that we shared with him. We remember his excitement as he was awaiting one of Mimi's visit with her mountain dogs. He was so proud of all of his children and would often speak of their successes. We enjoyed good conversations with Richard and will treasure those happy times. In closing just like to say that we will treasure the poem that Richard gave us which he wrote. Richard we are sorry for the pain that you endured during your illness and believe that you are in a much happier place looking down and smiling on us in peace.

As a teenager I worked after school at Architects Hardware. Just before graduation I was significantly injured in a motorcycle accident. Dick came to see me in the hospital concerned for what this young kid would do now Dick offered me the warehouse supervisor's position. I only stayed there for a short time but I will never forget his kindness. That's the type of person Dick was.

Dear Dorothy and family,

My heart breaks for all of you and all your dearest. Dick, was a wonderful guy and I will remember him fondly. This is a horrific loss. Having lost Ron suddenly and in a terrifying way, I can slighly relate to what you are experiencing. I'm sorry it's been so many years since I've seen you. Just know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Nancy Kohn and Jon, your former student, Dorothy
