John Ashcraft Obituary

Ashcraft, John Bruce LEVERETT, Mass. John Bruce Ashcraft, 62, of Leverett, passed away on September 3, 2012, at home with his loving wife, Linda Cioffi, by his side. Bruce was the son of Jack Ashcraft and the late Wadonna Ashcraft of Sarasota, Fla. After 24 years with the U.S. Air Force, Bruce was an engineering consultant to the USAF. Throughout his life he was an avid pilot who lived to fly enjoying the world and people around him. Bruce gladly gave his time and resources to friends, family, and diverse charities, including aviation, environmental, and VITA. He was a beloved husband, an involved father, a joyous grandfather, a patient son, and a welcoming friend. Bruce is also survived by his daughter, Heather (Hal) Hibben of Kennesaw, Ga.; son, Sean (Lisa) Ashcraft of Greenfield, Mass.; sisters, Paula Kraft and Fredreka Prince, both of Atlanta; and four grandchildren. Bruce was predeceased by his first wife, Carla, and son, Jonathan. We would like to thank the doctors and staff of Massachusetts General Hospital, for the exceptional care and compassion shown to us. Interment in the Union Cemetery, Quaker Hill, Conn. will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating or volunteering your time to an aviation or other charity of your choice.
